About Tilly
My self-publishing adventure began in 2023 when a friend asked me to be her Writing Month buddy. I said sure, as I have always enjoyed writing in various forms (the college newspaper, shorts, journaling, essays and work stuff). By the end of that November, I had the first draft of Tasteful Anarchy and Tangled Auras in my hands, clocking in about 65,000 words. I had included a lot of me in the story: witchcraft and pagan religions, a pansexual, mid-sized (& petty) female main character and a several side characters inspired by folks in my life.
My variety of neurospicy includes the "how hard could it be" gene, so after approximately 15 minutes of research on what it takes to get picked up by a publisher, I said, "Screw it, I'll do it myself."
Enter my "cult" of other writers who helped me refine and clean up my first draft, I hired a professional editor and a few months later, sent out ARCs (advance reader copies), then set my baby free in the big, dangerous ocean (The Zon).
I'm still learning and refining my skills, thanks to many many author friends. I've met great people on this adventure and been blessed to work with many talented artists.
One of my kiddos asked me when I'm going to stop writing. I told them, "When it's not fun anymore."
